![]() Crystals and stones often collect dust and should be held when meditating or praying. These can be placed in your living room and bedroom on a daily basis but should be rinsed and cared for on a weekly basis or so. And, according to recent studies, burning sage can clean your air and improve your health. Burn and wave the smoke into the corners and shadows of your home while saying a little prayer to yourself setting your intention for the week. Both have similar healing and negative clearing energy properties so it just depends which one is your preference. Sage is traditionally used among Native American peoples and palo santo has been used by the Incas for many years. You’ll know when it’s time to get rid of them. Every so often I’ll come home and find limes deliberately placed in the corners of my apartment. These are rituals and traditions that are being passed down from my parents, grandparents and those before them.Īccording to my bruja mother, limes absorb bad energy that comes into your home. It should be noted that I am not an expert but I do identify as a bruja learning more each day as I open up my heart to my spiritual journey. ![]() So it’s the best time for the beginning of new projects which is perfect for new year. The new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28 day cycle. Tonight, is a good night to start clearing your home of negative energy because there is a new moon in Capricorn. And, every so often, take them home and rinse them with a little salt and water and set them on your windowsill for the evening to absorb the moonlight’s energy. But it should be noted that no one else should touch them but if they do touch them, just rinse them in warm water. A personal favorite of mine is amethyst, because of its healing properties and purple color. The suggestions below work well for your living space like your bedroom or home, but if you want to clear some funky energy from your workspace, placing crystals and stones on your desk is your best bet. You will start to notice your mind more at ease, get better sleep, more positivity and your productivity will shoot up too. Clearing your space of negative energy will reset you on an ongoing basis. Once you start to see the emotional and physical benefits, you will want to do it more and more. If you aren’t used to doing a weekly spiritual check-in, start slow with every two weeks but try to be consistent for maximum results. Because just like your mind and body require maintenance, so does your space. Spiritual space cleansings should be done once a week. ![]() We are only human and it’s natural to collect energy, good and bad, but now you can finally empower yourself and do something about it. Objects carry energy as well, so it’s best to use this time to declutter your home a bit as well, and finally get rid of the negative spiritual baggage. Think of all the energy you bring into a space, people you have over and actual things you bring into your home. The new year calls for resolutions, new beginnings and, most importantly, a spiritual cleansing for your living space and, if possible, work space. ![]()
